Ridge Clean Energy is proud to support the success of the 2024 Going Electric Show on the Isle of Wight
This year’s Going Electric Show on the Isle of Wight drew over 750 visitors serious about reducing their carbon footprint to Newport Quayside and the Riverside Centre. As the Island’s largest Electric Transport and Green Technology event, the show provided a platform for residents to explore the latest in electric vehicles, sustainable living solutions, and cutting-edge green technologies (see video of the event here).
Ridge Clean Energy was honoured to sponsor the event as part of our mission to support communities in their transition to a greener and more sustainable future. The show, now in its third year, has continued to grow, showcasing more than 40 exhibition stands, including the Island’s leading automotive dealers and green technology experts.
The event’s expansion to Newport Quayside allowed for an even more comprehensive display of electric cars, vans, bikes, solar panels, heat pumps, and charging solutions. The ever-popular Bike Zone returned, offering visitors the chance to see and test-ride the latest electric bikes. A special Meet the Owner area provided attendees with the unique opportunity to engage directly with electric vehicle owners, gaining insights into the practicalities and benefits of EVs in everyday life.
Colin Palmer, Director of Wight Community Energy, highlighted the importance of the event, stating,
The event also featured a series of expert talks about the electrification of homes and transport, as well as the broader implications of renewable technology and sustainability. The talks are a helpful opportunity for attendees to think about the future of energy, helping them understand the vital role that green technology will play in the IoW’s ongoing transition to a sustainable lifestyle.
Ridge Clean Energy’s Community Partnership Co-ordinator, Teresa Hall said: “Our mission is to empower communities to embrace sustainable practices. By supporting the Going Electric Show for the third year running, we aim to contribute to the Isle of Wight’s transition to green technology and sustainable living. It is great to see the show becoming an established annual event – a testament to the community’s growing enthusiasm for the electric revolution and their determination to build a greener future for all.”
As the Island continues its journey towards net zero, Ridge Clean Energy remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that drive positive environmental change. We look forward to seeing the long-term impact of the Show and to continuing our collaboration with the Isle of Wight community on future sustainable projects.
