Our History

Investing in Clean Energy Since 2003

Before Ridge Clean Energy was established in 2019, the team had developed, constructed, and operated clean energy projects between 2003 and 2014 under RidgeWind.

Over this decade, RidgeWind became one of the UK’s largest independent renewable energy developers and is recognised as a pioneer in the UK onshore wind industry.

Ridge Clean Energy - Our History

RidgeWind

RidgeWind was responsible for over 100 MW of operational wind assets, more than 60 MW under construction, and in excess of 100 MW in pre-construction by 2014.

Beinneun, located near Fort Augustus in the Scottish Highlands, was one of our key projects and the initial 85MW application was one of the quickest Section 36 projects to be approved by the Scottish Government.

The RidgeWind team has also developed solar and AD (Anaerobic Digestion) assets in the UK.

Below are seven examples of RidgeWind projects that are currently operational across England and Scotland.
