The Footprint Trust, supported by Ridge Clean Energy, is rolling out a new volunteer program helping residents save money on their energy bills.
As we enter the colder upcoming months, The Footprint Trust is enhancing its battle against fuel poverty by training a new wave of volunteers to help Island residents lower their energy bills. This builds on the charity’s efforts since 2002.
A new Footprint Trust volunteer program is designed to maximize community impact on energy savings through flexible commitments and collaborative expertise of local people on the Island. Volunteers can work anywhere between 4 hours to 2 days per week.
Laura Stichbury, the Manager of the Footprint Trust, stated:
“Our work is incredibly rewarding, and becoming a Heat Helpmate can benefit both you and your community. One of our senior energy team members initially joined us through this scheme. We’re deeply grateful to Ridge Clean Energy for enabling us to offer this volunteer program.”
Teresa Hall of RCE, developers of Sunny Oaks Renewable Energy Park, reflected:
“Building on the success of the volunteer helpmates scheme initiated in 2022, Ridge Clean Energy are pleased to be able to continue our support, this time with the Heat Helpmates programme for 2024. By helping Islanders to save money on heating and energy bills the Footprint Trust is benefitting both people and the planet, which is at the core of our values.”
