Betsy Glasgow-Vasey

Power Markets Director

Betsy joined the Ridge team at its inception in 2019 following a 5-year career in the UK Parliament, working in the Westminster office of former Prime Minister David Cameron and the current Solicitor General Robert Courts KC.

Her background in national and local government policy, as well as working with local communities, gave her an excellent foundation for a role in UK renewables, broadening Ridge’s sensitive and responsible development practices.

Seeing an opportunity to deliver greater climate repair, Betsy supported the creation of Ridge Carbon Capture in 2020, leading our project development in the burgeoning industry of UK carbon credit generation. Betsy engages with landowners, stakeholders and policy-makers to further the positive work of certified UK carbon codes. She is committed to supporting UK decarbonisation, and sees carbon removal as a vital way to offset as-yet unavoidable emissions. You can find Betsy probing upland peatland in the Scottish wilderness, or in the House of Commons advocating for stricter carbon footprint regulations.

Betsy graduated from Oxford University with a degree in French and Italian.
